Being Aware Of Stage 2 Hypertension
Do you know what is stage 2 hypertension actually? This is just what you have to understand in the world of hypertension. Hypertension is a condition when your blood pressure is above 130/80. In this article, let’s check a comprehensive facts about stage 2 hypertension.
Hypertension which is also known as high blood hypertension is a familiar disease that has plagued many people all over the world. In fact, there are three types of hypertension. The first is stage 1 hypertension or mild hypertension when the reading is above 140/90. The following type is stage 2 hypertension or moderate hypertension when the reading is above 160/100. The third is stage 3 hypertension when the reading crosses 180/120.
What is Stage 2 Hypertension?
Stage 2 hypertension is also recognized as late high blood pressure (HBP), secondary hypertension or severe high blood pressure. This is a serious condition that requires continuous monitoring and medical care. In most of cases (more than 90%) of hypertension, the reason of HBP isn’t detected. However, stage 2 hypertension is commonly caused by leading a highly stressful life, excessive intake of alcohol, high fat diet, smoking, excessive salt consumption and sedentary lifestyle.
The symptoms of this kind of hypertension widely vary from person to person. These include sudden dizziness accompanied with persistent headaches, feeling fatigued, flushing, and many more.
What are the Dangers Correlated with Stage 2 Hypertension?
Silent killer is often addressed to hypertension. This is because there is no early symptom indicates that you have it. The worst thing is that most people suffering from hypertension don’t even understand that they have it, at least not until it is too late.
Several of the primary consequences that result from leaving hypertension untreated are gradual harm of kidney cells leading to damage of the retina leading to complete renal failure, serious vision impairment, and the most grim of all damage of arterial walls which leads to their thickening which in turn lead to heart attacks and strokes. The heart works under superb force and the additional effort subsequently develops congestive heart failure and death.
What Can You Do to Reverse It?
Sadly to say that hypertension has no cure. However, you need to keep a constant watch on it so you will know when it crosses the danger levels once you develop it. As soon as you learn about, you would need to immediately improve your life style by including lower or totally eliminate salt, a brief window of at least 20-30 for exercise on daily basis, take up a healthier diet, stop consuming alcohol and smoking, among others.
The other significant thing to do in treating your stage 2 hypertension is to go after your doctor’s instruction in taking medication. Furthermore, at regular intervals, you also have to test your blood pressure. Lots of the blood pressure monitors that can be used at home have a number of different features. For example, some come with stethoscopes for sale such as Sprague Rappaport stethoscope which can make the blood pressure reading a lot more easier.
Best CNA STETHOSCOPE?
I just bought a $12 ADC Sprague rappaport and although it works great on my 5 year old, it SUCKS in the way of an adult heart, i cant hear for crap. . .whats my best bet that wont kill my wallet?
haven't started school yet and i need a good one!
Littmann is a great brand and so is Ultrascope.
Ultrascope is going to run you anywhere from $70 to over $100. If you order directly from their website you can choose the color of the tubing, the graphic on the head, add engraving, etc. They are also lifetime guaranteed. The big thing is to make sure you read the directions because they are pressure sensitive meaning you have to press lightly to hear some sounds (lung, heart, etc) and harder to hear other sounds. If you press too hard you can sometimes hear bowel sounds in the chest (the scopes are that sensitive!).
Littmann makes a large variety of scopes that run from about $20 into the hundreds (yes, I meant to put an s there). In CNA school you're not going to have a need for a high-tech cardiac scope. I have always had a super difficult time hearing from many stethoscopes. I bought a Littmann for around $50 at a uniform shop and have had no trouble hearing.
You may check amazon and ebay for used stethoscopes. You can buy new earpieces for them so you don't have to worry about putting someone else's ear funk in your ear.
