Where To Get Your Supplies Of Medical Consumables
Medical consumables have always been used in society as an aid in helping the body to heal, in fact I doubt if there is a single person who has not used a bandage or plaster to put on a sore finger or on some other body part. Regardless of how healthy you are, we are all prone to minor scrapes and bruises as well as infection. Medical consumables are medical products, medical consumables are different than pharmaceutical products even though you will be able to purchase both at your corner pharmacist.
Medical consumables are described as: Products used for therapeutic purposes that is not pharmaceutical, non re-usable , and is needed in the case of injury to restore the patients health and independence. Examples of medical consumables are these: syringes and needles; bandages and paraffin gauze; gloves, forceps, swabs, wooden tongue blades, electrodes and catheters.
Suppliers of medical consumables are either; hospitals and clinics, general practitioners and specialists, pharmacies and rehabilitation centres.
In the case when a patient has been hospitalised, it is the hospitals who supply the medical consumables to the patients, free of charge unless in the case of private hospitals where the patients will be billed for it. In the public sector, the hospital needs to provide the patient with consumable for least a few weeks after being released.
At rehabilitation centres, they are responsible for ordering and supplying the consumables. These consumables are usually things such as neck and arm braces.
In cases where the injury is minor or when so dictated by the establishment, the patient can buy their consumables at a pharmacy. Minor injuries can be anything from cuts, grazes, minor burns, infections or rashes. If the injury is minor it can be nursed at home, however if the wound is not healing or is getting worse then it is best to see a medical professional.
Cost effectiveness of medical consumables are stipulated by law, this is not a product industry which is driven by profits. Medical consumables should also be easily accessible to the general public. Most good pharmacies will be open from early in the morning to late at night to provide this service in case of emergencies.
Policies and procedures for returning medical consumables are these and should be adhered to. In the case of a product being un-used, damaged or incorrectly ordered, the customer needs to contact the place where they bought the product, to return the product as soon as possible. They need to retain the slip as proof of purchase, and most likely will not be able to return the goods without it. However the product must be un- opened and full if being returned. Opened used products must be disposed of, and cannot be returned.
Medical consumables are cost effective and aid in the healing and rehabilitation of an injury or infection. It is a always a necessity to keep medical consumables and over the counter pharmaceutical products on hand, for on the spot treatment of any minor injuries. Create your first aid box today!

I was going to order a navel piercing kit off line, so my mom could do it for me at home. It comes with the sterile needle, forceps, Acholol swabs, after piercing cleaning stuff and the cork. The only reason i wont go to a pro is bc im afraid i will cry and be embarrassed.lol would you think this is safe. I think it will be fine if i clean everything really good and if my mom wears gloves. The needle says it sterile and everything list reasons why and why not.
It could get infected. I recommend you going to a professional to get it done to be on the safe side.
Simulation Replicates Real-Life Scenarios For Heart Surgeons, Improves Cardiac Surgical Training Results (Medical News Today)
Residents in cardiac surgery who receive extra training on a take-home
simulator do a better job once they get into the operating room, Dr. Buu-Khanh
Lam today told the Canadian Cardiovascular Congress 2011, co-hosted by the
Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Canadian Cardiovascular Society. Dr. Lam
and a multidisciplinary surgical team developed a kit - containing sutures,
forceps, and miniature tubing - that can be taken home by trainees to practice
a highly technical operation called microvascular anastomosis...
