How to know how much to trim the sole of the hoof?
When our horse's hooves are trimmed, the farrier uses a knife to trim into the sole. This exposes more of the interior of the wall of the hoof. How to know if enough of the sole is trimmed out? How to know if too much of the sole is trimmed out? How to know how far down to trim the walls of the hoof? The horses are always kept on pasture with some occasional riding on dirt roads and gravel roads (probably each ridden 4 hours/week) Thanks!
Well i hav a horse, and all i want to say is dont cut to close because it will be uncomforable for the horse, and they may play up and buck, this has happend too us. But we learn from our mistakes!!!
