Labiaplasty to fix sexual dysfunction?
I have had irritation due to a too-tight fourchette (the back part of the labia where the labia minora connects) since I became sexually active, but it's become intolerable lately. I have tried everything to fix it, using dilators, lube, different positions, steroid cream, estrogen, psoriasis medicine, different birth control methods, but nothing works in the slightest. I feel that my only option left is surgery, but I don't want or need a full labiaplasty. Is making an incision in the fourchette something a surgical gyn could do, or should I see a plastic surgeon? Also, if you know of any other non-surgical remedies, please let me know!
You don't need labiaplasty (surgery on the labia), the correct treatment for your condition is perineoplasty (surgery of the perineum, the area between your vagina and anus).
Simple surface incisions of the fourchette are generally not successful at treating your problem (as it is also involves the muscles under the skin).
And yes, you do need a plastic surgeon. It's a delicate procedure that should only be done by someone who is experienced. You want a good end result, both in terms of appearance and of feel during intercourse.
