Playground Of The Rich And Famous: Holidays To Dubai

Visitors of all tastes and budgets are sure to find something for them on holidays to Dubai, with its famously diverse array of attractions, ranging from camel safaris to championship golf courses.  Dubai is also a place of discovery; the number of new things to try here is beyond belief. Arguably, the unique selling point of Dubai holidays, apart from its pristine sandy shores, is its curious mix of tradition and innovation.

For an introduction to Dubai’s Bedu past and to get an understanding of what this once sleepy Gulf trading post was like before petrodollars, head to the Dubai Museum in the Al Fahidi fort. Indulge in a cruise, drive through the desert dunes, or go on safari for that unforgettable element of a unique short break.

With some of the biggest malls in the world, designer boutiques and a host of traditional souks, Dubai is the perfect place to indulge in a bit of retail therapy. Offering a shopping on an unimaginable scale, the Dubai Mall is equivalent in size to over 50 American football pitches, with USPs including its own aquarium and ice rink. However, there’s much more to shopping in Dubai than its cookie-cutter malls. With their famous narrow alleyways overflowing with colourful merchandise, the spice, gold and textile souks in Deira and Bur Dubai are great places to shop if you’re looking for a more traditional place to shop.

The city’s architectural highlight, the Burj al Arab’s iconic sail-shaped design makes it an instantly recognisable part of Dubai’s skyline. Although now overlooked by the Babylonian Burj Khalifa, the Burj al Arab has not been overshadowed by its (much) taller neighbour. The incredibly opulent interior is everything you’d expect from the archetype for 7-star Dubai hotels. It’s definitely worth booking a table at one of the hotel’s ten restaurants to get a feel for  the jaw-dropping, awful majesty of the interior and to enjoy spectacular views of Dubai.

In short, Dubai holidays are unique.  Developed a mere 40 years ago, it has fast become a “playground for the rich and famous”, where visitors can mingle in an environment laced with gold, silk, and spice.   It is a place of unparalleled appeal, with opulent hotels lining its extensive golden sand beaches.

What strategies would you recommend Debbie use when she sits down to study?

Debbie has disciplined herself to sit down and study during her scheduled study blocks. She sits in the living room at a large table that has her television, notebooks, supplies, and family pictures. Hours go by, and she has nothing to show for her time. She cannot seem to get started. Her assignments seem long and tedious. She knows what she needs to get done, bur cannot seem to motivate herself. She stares at her books and simply cannot focus her mind on studying.

Debbie's study area is too comfortable and tied to fun, family times together. There are numerous distractions and a wide space to stare into. She needs a rigid desk in a smaller, more austere area. Before getting into her work, she may consider jotting down an outlet to plan her schedule. It may help to combine subjects somewhat related or prioritize them by most difficult. By tackling those, she can focus her energy while still strong. Periodic breaks of ten minutes every thirty minutes will help keep engaged. Having a snack before undertaking assignments and adequate water should also be thought of to aid study.
